The delegation of the International Resistance Film Festival, headed by Dr. Mohammad Ali Shojaei Fard, arrived in Baghdad today to meet with Iraqi cultural and artistic officials in order to strengthen cultural and cinematic exchanges. This is the first international event of the Resistance Film Festival in Iraq.
According to the Public Relations Department of the International Resistance Film Festival, a delegation headed by Dr. Mohammad Ali Shojaei Fard, Deputy Secretary of the International Resistance Film Festival, arrived in Baghdad with the aim of developing cultural and artistic interactions, especially in the field of cinema and media production. This trip was planned in cooperation with the Basira Institute in Iraq and with the aim of jointly holding cultural events.
On the first day of this trip, the officials of the International Resistance Film Festival attended the Basira Institute and met with the officials of this institution, were informed about the capacities of this media institution, and discussed and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation.
The signing of an agreement with the Basira Institute for the joint production of a short story on common topics and issues (fighting ISIS, Arbaeen, fighting the tyrant, fighting Zionism, religious history), cooperation in holding the Resistance Festival event in Iraq, producing joint cinematic works (the specific case of the second part of the film North from the Southwest in Camp Ashraf), holding cinematic training courses and holding artificial intelligence training courses were among the agreements between the International Resistance Film Festival and the Basira Media Institute in Iraq.
Israfil Kiliji, executive director of this event and head of the International Resistance Film Festival Committee, referred to the details of the meetings of the International Resistance Film Festival delegation and stated: Several programs have been planned, including a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Culture of Iraq, a meeting with Hajj Muhannad Aqabi, head of the Popular Mobilization Forces media, a visit to cultural and cinematic places and cinemas in the Jadriyyah and Harthiya shopping centers, and a meeting with Dr. Mutaez Asadi from the Baghdad Faculty of Fine Arts.
He added: The conclusion of this trip will be accompanied by the holding of the first Basira Cinema and Theater Festival and the screening of the film “North from the Southwest”. This film, which will be screened for the first time in Iraq, has been nominated for 13 international and national awards and has won numerous awards.
The head of the International Resistance Film Festival Committee noted: This trip and holding joint events reflect the efforts of the International Resistance Film Festival and the Basira Institute to strengthen cultural and artistic cooperation between Iran and Iraq and promote the art of resistance in the region.
