In an interview with the public relations of the 18th International Resistance Film Festival, Rohollah Motafker-Azad, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized the unique role of this event in conveying the message of resistance to the nations of the world, saying: “This festival can fill the content void in world cinema and be the voice of oppressed nations that are not heard in Western paradigms.”

Referring to the unique role of art in conveying messages, Rohollah Motafker-Azad, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized: “The Resistance Film Festival is an opportunity to convey the message of resistance to the oppressed nations of the world by producing valuable works and fill the void in world cinema.”

In an interview with the public relations of the 18th International Resistance Film Festival, he expressed the importance of the language of art in conveying concepts, saying: “We all agree that the language of expressing a content is as influential as, or even more so than, the content itself. The role of Hazrat Zaynab (peace be upon her) in the Ashura uprising is a clear example of this. In the field of art, after the Islamic Revolution, we witnessed a fundamental transformation in Iranian cinema, which transformed from contentless films into valuable works that are in line with authentic Iranian culture. This shows that this path is feasible.”

The freethinker added: “In order to continue this trend, it is necessary to formulate appropriate policies to encourage the production of high-quality films and focus on valuable content. Our country has prominent producers, directors, and actors who can pave this path by creating influential works.”

Referring to the global perspective of the Resistance Film Festival, the MP stated: “This festival is not limited to the country alone and has an international approach. In a situation where Western cinema follows limited and specific paradigms, the Resistance Festival can fill the void in world cinema by presenting different content and be the voice of nations whose voices are not heard within these frameworks.”

He concluded by noting: “The Resistance Film Festival is a unique opportunity to convey the values of revolution and resistance to the world. Given the shortcomings of world cinema, this event can play a pivotal role in showcasing the ideals of oppressed nations.”
