The closing ceremony of the International Resistance Film Festival (Artificial Intelligence Section) pre-event titled “Growth Camp of Origin” was held at the Velayat Aqdasiya Cultural Complex, affiliated with the International Campus of Baqiyatallah University. The event, which was designed with the role of new technologies in producing works related to resistance in mind, added a special “Artificial Intelligence” section to the festival for the first time.

In this scientific-artistic meeting, selected works produced using artificial intelligence were exhibited. The main theme of these works was to reflect the concepts of resistance using advanced algorithms. Subsequently, members of the production teams explained the production process, software tools, and technical challenges of using artificial intelligence in creating artistic content.

One of the main topics of the discussions was to examine technological obstacles in the path of producing resistance-oriented works with the help of artificial intelligence. Referring to software limitations and the need for specialized knowledge, the participants emphasized the need to develop indigenous artificial intelligence infrastructure in the country. They called for the creation of domestic platforms and the training of specialized personnel to reduce dependence on foreign technologies.

We then sat down with some of the participants in the closing ceremony of the “Rushd Mansha Camp,” which you can read below:

Using Artificial Intelligence in Producing Resistance Works; Challenges and Opportunities
The participants in the “Rushd Mansha” event, referring to their experiences in producing works related to the resistance and Palestine axis, spoke about the technical and ideological challenges of using artificial intelligence in this field. While emphasizing the need to localize this technology, they criticized the limitations of Western tools in depicting the realities of the crimes of the Zionist regime.

Western Artificial Intelligence; A Barrier to Depicting Zionist Crimes
Azimi, one of the winners of this event, said about her work titled “The Story of the School of Reality,” “This work was created based on a conversation with an American woman who supports Palestine, who faced numerous challenges in supporting the resistance in a state in the United States. Artificial intelligence did not cooperate in depicting real scenes, such as an Israeli soldier pointing a gun at a Palestinian child. This system does not recognize Israel as a criminal by default, so we had to use creative methods to circumvent the limitations of AI tools to depict the crimes of the Zionist regime.”

Western AI Censorship; From Banning the Israeli Flag to Distorting the Bombing of Gaza!
Regarding the work submitted to the International Resistance Film Festival, Hosseini said: “Our goal was to show the goals of American students in supporting the resistance and expose the censorship of Western media. AI was a key tool for transforming scenarios into images, but restrictions such as the ban on showing blood, the Israeli flag, or characters related to the criminals of the Israeli regime made the job difficult. Even to depict the bombing of Gaza, we had to use the word “earthquake!”

“Elaf”; AI’s Narrative of the Resistance’s Victory in the War of Narratives
Yazdan Kashmiri, referring to his work called “Elaf,” said: “This work was made based on the Supreme Leader’s orders about the Jihad of Explanation and the enemy’s five goals in the cognitive war (faith, hope, trust, awareness, and will). Artificial intelligence helped us to counter the narrative of the resistance against the narrative of the Western media. Although Israel is shown as victorious in the media, the real victor is the resistance.”

Localizing AI is a necessity
Saremi said about the “Liberation of Palestine” clip: “The main challenge was the bias of AI and the lack of support for the Persian language. To convey the message, we had to use metaphor. Localizing AI is the only way to counter the instillation of Western thoughts.”

It should be noted that at the end of this event, the producers and artists present emphasized the need to develop a strategic document to support artistic productions based on AI and to provide financial and technical resources in this field.
