Dr. Ghafari announced: In the 18th International Resistance Film Festival, the “Morteza Award” will be awarded to documentary filmmakers whose work has the greatest content affinity with the thoughts and ideas of the master of literary martyrs, Martyr Seyyed Morteza Avini.
Dr. Jalal Ghafari, secretary of the 18th International Resistance Film Festival and dean of the Shahid Avini Faculty of Arts and Media, said in a conversation, referring to the significant growth in the volume of works submitted in the form of documentaries: In this edition of the festival, documentary filmmakers from all over the country and many countries around the world have sent good works to the secretariat to participate in the festival, which we have witnessed both in terms of quality and quantity, compared to previous editions, and this growth will give us the promise of holding a festival on the scale of the Islamic Revolution and the Resistance Front.
According to him, many documentary works from various institutions and organizations, such as the Islamic Revolution Art Center, the Ouj Organization, the Center for the Development of Experimental Cinema, the National Congresses of Martyrs from all over the country, and many other institutions, as well as revolutionary documentary makers, have been submitted to the secretariat.
The Secretary of the International Resistance Film Festival stated that for the first time in the 18th edition of the festival, the festival’s documentary committee has planned to award the special “Morteza Award” to the winners of the festival’s documentary section. He said: This award will be awarded by the esteemed jury to documentary makers whose work has the greatest content affinity with the thoughts and ideas of the master of literary martyrs, Martyr Seyyed Morteza Avini.
He considered the judging of documentary works submitted to the festival to be one of the significant actions of the documentary committee, which is being carried out with a jihadist and accelerated movement.
Dr. Ghafari listed planning to hold specialized meetings on the topic of documentaries with the presence of documentary makers, holding in-person and virtual specialized courses on related topics, such as a virtual training course on the basics of documentary production and an in-person training course on the use of artificial intelligence in documentary productions, as other activities of the Documentary Committee.
